On Monday, April 28, 2014, an EF4 tornado decimated my hometown and the town in which I work, Louisville, located in Winston County, Mississippi. Many homes and businesses were destroyed. Ten people lost their lives.

Winston County is hurting, but in the wake of this tragedy, I have witnessed great strength and resilience, and a deep spirit of generosity. There is a strong bond of love within this community that is shining brightly with the ongoing efforts to save, to repair, to regroup, and to rebuild.

I was inspired to create this graphic, which I distributed freely on Facebook. It features the iconic Winston County landmark known affectionately as “The Monument”, a statue that stands in the middle of a major intersection in Louisville.
